Angers vs Metz Prediction & Match Preview

Saturday, August 24 – 14:00 EST – Stade Raymond-Kopa

Angers will be disappointed in their performance last week where they lost 6-0 to Lyon. Angers want put this defeat behind them as quickly as possible. The departure of former Arsenal man Jeff Reine-Adélaïde just days before the match left them vulnerable in the midfield. Stephane Moulin will not have an easy task on his hands as he looks for an eligible replacement in the midfield. They will look to build on their opening match result when they confidently won 3-1 against Bordeaux. Reine-Adélaïde scored and assisted a goal in that match. Angers have lost just one in their last 10 home games. The squad still has depth but they will have to build their play around a different man this Saturday against newly promoted Metz if they are going to bounce back from their result last week.

On the other hand, Metz will be happy with their performance last week where they beat 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions Monaco 3-0. Habib Diallo was clinical in front of goal scoring twice. Diallo also scored in their season opener which ended as a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg. Monaco will look to build on these positive results as they go for their second win of the season. A man to keep an eye on is Habib Diallo who already has 3 goals in just 2 matches. Metz have a great away record losing just 2 of their league matches on the road last season.
