Schalke-B.Monchengladbach

Friday, January 17 – 14:30 EST – VELTINS-Arena

Schalke 04 and Borussia M’gladbach face each other at Veltins-Arena in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining matches of the weekend. Schalke 04 aim to climb to the top 4 in the Bundesliga standings. They are undefeated in the previous eight home games in the Bundesliga. Borussia Monchengladbach really impressed in the first half of the season, with the team sitting second in the standings. Monchengladbach recorded only one win in their last five away games in the Bundesliga. Despite their drop in performance as of late, this side has so much depth and will be looking for the win to close the gap between them and first place RB Leipzig.

OUR PICK: SCHALKE DRAW NO BET

Mainz-Freiburg

Saturday, January 18 – 9:30 EST – Opel Arena

Opel Arena will host Saturday’s football game between Mainz 05 and Freiburg. Mainz have been having ups and downs in the Bundesliga this season. They rolled over Werder Bremen 5-0 in their last away game. In their latest match, they lost 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen at home. They currently sit in 14th place with 18 points to their tally. Mainz suffered three defeats in the previous four home games. They will need to be more consistent if they are to make their way out from the danger zone. As it stands, Freiburg sit in 8th place in the league. They did well to draw Schalke 2-2 in their last match. Freiburg are however on a six-game winless run on the road ahead of their trip to Mainz. They have experienced a drop in their performance, winning just 1 of their last 5 matches overall.

OUR PICK: OVER 2.5 GOALS

Hertha Berlin-Bayern Munich

Sunday, January 19 – 9:30 EST – Olympiastadion Berlin

Olympiastadion will host Sunday’s football game between Hertha Berlin and Bayern Munich in what is expected to be a very competitive bout. Hertha are unbeaten in their last 4 matches overall. They did well in their last match to secure a clean sheet in what ended as a goalless draw against second place Borussia Monchengladbach. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, dropped a number of points in the first half of the season and will be looking to turn things around with some good results. Despite this, they find themselves in third place in the Bundesliga with 33 points to their tally. Bayern have been in fine form as of late, with the team beating Werder Bremen (6-1), Freiburg (3-1), and Wolfsburg (2-0) in the previous three league fixtures. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Robert Lewandowski, who has been scoring goals for fun in the German top flight this season.
