Schalke-Union Berlin

Friday, November 29 – 14:30 EST – VELTINS-Arena

Schalke are set to host Union Berlin at the VELTINS-Arena on Friday in what is expected to be a very entertaining matchup. Schalke have had an impressive season so far. They currently sit 5th in the Bundesliga, just 3 points shy of B. Monchengladbach in first. Schalke are unbeaten in their last four Bundesliga matches. They did well to defeat Werder Bremen (2-1) in their latest Bundesliga match. A win over Union Berlin will extend their unbeaten run to five matches. Union Berlin had a slow start to the season, but have been exceptional as of late. They quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss against Bayern Munchen, with the team beating the likes of Hertha (1-0), Mainz (3-2), and Borussia M’gladbach(2-0) in the last three league fixtures. They’ll look to extend their run of good form but beating Schalke on the road will not be an easy task.

Saturday, November 30 – 9:30 EST – Rhein-Neckar-Arena

Hoffenheim suffered an embarrassing 5-1 loss to Mainz at home on Matchday 12. Alfred Schreuder’s troops aim to get back on course with a win on Saturday as they host Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena. Hoffenheim are a real force to be reckoned with at home, with the team beating Schalke 04 (2-0) and Paderborn (3-0) before the unexpected defeat to Mainz. They currently sit 8th in the league with 20 points to their tally. A win can put them in the race for a Champions League spot. Fortuna Dusseldorf, on the other hand, have been struggling at the back of late. They conceded seven goals in total in their previous two league fixtures. The visitors suffered four defeats in the last five away games in the German top flight. They’ll be looking to bounce back after losing their last match against Bayern Munich 4-0.

Wolfsburg-Werder Bremen

Sunday, December 01 – 12:00 EST – Volkswagen Arena

Wolfsburg will be aiming to regain their spot in the top six when they host Werder Bremen at the Volkswagen Arena. The home side did well to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt (2-0) after quickly bouncing back from consecutive defeats to Borussia Dortmund (3-0) and Bayer Leverkusen (2-0). Wolfsburg are a tough side to beat at home, losing just once this season. They will be without suspended defender Marcel Tisserand against Werder Bremen. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back losses to the likes of Borussia M’gladbach (3-1), and Schalke 04 (2-1). As a result of their shortcomings, Werder Bremen are 14th in the Bundesliga. They will look to bounce back with a win to push away from the danger zone. In their last meeting in the national championship the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.
