Granada enter the La Liga season red hot. They won 6 out of their 6 preseason matches. Inexperienced manager Diego Martinez is looking to overachieve and turn some heads this season. He did just that in their opener as the match against Villarreal ended in a 4-4 draw. Both teams wanted nothing to do with defending in this fixture. Martinez will be happy that the 4 goals came from four different players, however the club will be looking to improve defensively. Debutant Domingos Duarte failed to have a solid game and may need more time to settle. It will be interesting to see if Martinez sticks with him as well as the other defenders for the match against Sevilla considering their 4 allowed goals against Villarreal.

Lopetegui could not have asked for a better start. They secured a comfortable 2-0 win on the road against a decent Espanyol team. He will be pleased with the clean sheet and look to have a similar defensive performance. Sergio Reguilon had a standout performance at left back. The ex Real Madrid man had a hand in both goals, earning a goal and an assist. He is due for a breakout campaign and has the potential to establish himself as one of the world’s best left backs if he keeps this pace up. Sevilla’s dream start to the season would see them earn two road wins. They will look to make this happen on Friday against a resilient Granada side.
