Angers vs Marseille
Tuesday, December 3 – 13:00 EST – Stade Jean-Bouin
Second place versus third place in Ligue 1 will face off on Tuesday. Marseille are finally back amongst the elite of french football. After 15 games they have earned 28 points which is only five back of league leaders PSG. Angers are in third place with 24 points of their own. This is fantastic for a club who are not expected to be in such an advanced position. A win at home will not see them leap to second, however it will put much needed distance between the teams on their tail. Unfortunately for Angers only three points separate third from eleventh. A loss on Tuesday can see them free fall down the standings.
OUR PICK: MARSEILLE DRAW NO BET
Lyon vs Lille
Tuesday, December 3 – 15:05 EST – Parc Olympique Lyonnais
It has been a season of disappointment for Lyon after being touted to finally challenge PSG for the league title they own a current record of 6-4-5. The good news for Lyon is that they are the second best offence in the league scoring 24 goals this season. Unfortunately this has not always translated into three points which is why the team currently occupy the seventh spot in Ligue 1. Lille have an identical record which places them at eighth right behind Lyon. This will be an incredibly even game that can end in a variety of results. Victor Osimhen has been in fine form this year, expect him to have a great game on Tuesday.
OUR PICK: LYON TO WIN
St. Etienne vs Nice
Wednesday, December 4 – 13:00 EST – Geoffroy-Guichard
A win for either side would see them jump up the standings considerably. Due to the nature of the extremely close point totals from 12th to 3rd, teams have been moving up and down the rankings all season long. This means there are very small margins for error this year. One slip up can cost you big time. This is especially true for Nice who occupy the 12th spot. They are coming off a win against third place Angers and will look to build momentum by winning two in a row. Youcef Attal has been fantastic at the back line all season and he is attracting transfer interest from across Europe. St. Etienne do not have a win during their last three in all competitions. They desperately need to get back in the win column.
