The baseball actions continues as we start off a new week with another MLB Daily Double. We are coming off a tough loss, as we lost yesterday’s prediction by a single run. Nonetheless, we’ve had a positive month in the MLB and we will look to bounce back tonight with two featured picks. Let’s take a look at today’s MLB Daily Double as we feature the Pittsburgh Pirates vs Washington Nationals and the St Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Washington Nationals (August 19 – 19:05 EST)

Expected Pitchers: Trevor Williams (5-5, ERA: 5.33) vs Joe RossĀ (3-2, ERA: 5.91)

Without a doubt, the Washington Nationals are one of the hottest teams in the MLB right now. In the past few days, they have been scoring for fun and winning games comfortably. The only exception is Saturday’s match against the Brewers which ended with a thrilling 16-15 scoreline. The Nationals will look to continue on their positive form when they travel to Pittsburgh on Monday. The Pirates are one of the league’s worst teams, especially when it comes to their home record. They have only won 42% of their matches at PNC Park, and this is a concerning statistic for the home fans. Surprisingly enough, the Pirates have won 2 out of the 3 matches played against the Nationals this season. However, the Pirates have only won 5 out of their last 20 home matches, and we believe that the Nationals will be able to capitalize on that.

St Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers (August 19 – 19:45 EST)

Expected Pitchers: Dakota Hudson (11-6, ERA: 3.82) vs Zach DaviesĀ (8-5, ERA: 3.74)

The Cardinals open up their series against the Brewers on Monday evening at the Busch Stadium. St Louis has been playing well at home recently, having won 7 of their last 10 matches. They will look to build on that trend as they look to maintain top position in the National League central division. So far this season, the two teams have won 5 matches against each other. However, the Brewers have been poor when facing teams with a winning record as they have won only 1 of their last 7 road games. We are expecting a tight match, as the two teams have been neck to neck throughout the season. We think that Dakota Hudson will finally bounce back at home, after two consecutive losses against the Brewers.
