Another week comes to an end in the MLB, as we look for a positive finish with another MLB Daily Double. Luck did not go our way last night, as the second-worst team in the National League (Pittsburgh Pirates) magically defeated the Cincinnati Reds with a 14-0 scoreline. As the end of the season approaches, many teams are looking to clinch a place in the playoffs. For that reason, we are expecting a lot of tighter scorelines in the weeks to come. As always, make sure you follow us on our social media platforms to stay up to date with all our picks and predictions.

San Diego Padres vs Boston Red Sox (August 25 – 16:10 EST)

Expected Pitchers: Joey Lucchesi (7-7, ERA: 4.20) vs Brian Johnson (1-2, ERA: 6.58)

The Padres host the Red Sox in the final game of the series between the two teams. Boston has the advantage in the series winning both games so far. They will be looking to build on that form on Sunday afternoon. San Diego has had trouble this season, especially when playing at home. They have the third worst home record in the National League, and have only won 6 of their last 20 matches at Petco Park. Their playoff hopes are pretty much nonexistent at this point in the season. On the other hand, the Red Sox have won 8 out of their last 10 matches. This also includes 4 straight away wins. They will be counting on their pitcher to earn them another important result on Sunday. On the other hand, the Padres’ starting pitcher is 1-6 in his last seven starts. We’re expecting a tight match between these two teams.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs New York Yankees (August 25 – 19:05 EST)

Expected Pitchers: Clayton Kershaw (13-2, ERA: 2.77) vs Domingo German (16-3, ERA: 4.15)

Another series comes to an end, as the Dodgers host the Yankees at Dodger Stadium on Sunday evening. New York won the opening match with an impressive 10-2 scoreline, but Los Angeles managed to win 2-1 in the second match. We are expecting another heavily competitive match when these two teams meet. The Dodgers have been exceptional at home this season, winning 8 of their last 10 matches at Dodger Stadium. The Yankees have been struggling on the road, winning only 1 of their last 5 matches. In terms of pitchers, we believe that Clayton Kershaw as the upper hand over Domingo German. Both have been exception for their respective teams, but given Los Angeles’ home record we believe that they will close out the series with a win.
