Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Indians

Sunday, September 8 – 14:10 EST – Target Field

Expected Pitchers: Randy Dobnak (0-0, ERA: 0.00) vs Mike Clevinger (10-2, ERA: 2.71)

The Twins host the Indians in the third and final match of the series on Sunday afternoon at Target Field. The series is currently split one a piece between these two division rivals. Minnesota is very close to clinching a spot in the playoffs as they currently hold top place in the central division. On the other hand, the Indians know that they will have to treat every match as a final from now. They are still battling for a wildcard spot as they face competition from Oakland and Tampa Bay. Overall, this match means a lot more to the Indians than to the Twins. On that note, the Twins are going with Randy Dobnak as their starting pitcher. This will only be the second start of the season for the rookie pitcher.

The Indians will be going with their starting pitcher Mike Clevinger. He has been playing exceptionally well as he’s posted a 10-2 record thus far with an ERA of 2.71. Clevinger has only given up three runs in his last four starts, and we are expecting him to build on that form against the Twins. However, Cleveland will need a positive performance if they are to turn their recent away form around. They have only won 1 of their last 5 road matches. Luckily for them, the Twins have also been disappointing at Target Field. They are 1-6 in their last seven matches against teams with winning records, and the Indians have already beaten them a couple of times on the road this season. We are expecting a close encounter, however Minnesota will be facing a team that is hungry for wins in this final stretch of the season.
