Monaco vs Nice kicks off matchday 7 of Ligue 1 action. Monaco have been horrendous thus far. To be quite honest it is completely unacceptable for them to play at such a level with the talent they possess. Leonardo Jardim and his men should feel embarrassed by their performances. Nice on the other hand have been extremely positive. They currently occupy the third spot in Ligue 1 and do not look to relinquish it any time soon. Monaco vs Nice is a game with a lot on the line for both clubs.

Monaco have accumulated three draws and three losses in six games. In addition they flaunt a whopping -7 goal differential. Ultimately, it is mind boggling that Jardim’s team with such quality players are performing horribly. They have faced tough competition in Lyon and Marseille as well as below average clubs such as Metz and Strasbourg. It makes no difference to Monaco, all results have been negative thus far. When one takes a look at the team sheet and sees quality players, it is shocking to associate these footballers with their results. Golovin, Adrien Silva, Keita Baldé, Gelson Martins and Gil Dias all play football for AS Monaco. Just to name a few, however the list can go on and on. Ultimately, these players need to dig deep and produce some results before the reality of playing Ligue 2 football arrives next season.

Nice have enjoyed a fruitful spell to begin their Ligue 1 campaign. They remain one win away from league leaders. New signings Kasper Dolberg and Adam Ounas had their breakout performances last match against Dijon. Dolberg is a promising young centre forward who singed from Ajax while Ounas is a creative winger on loan from Napoli. These two have given Nice a real boost in quality that they were crying out for in the final third. Wylan Cyprien is as solid as ever and he has occupied the central midfield role successfully this season. The only worrying aspect of Nice’s success is their quality of opponents. They have yet to play many top teams in Ligue 1. The verdict is still out on this Nice team, however as of now it is looking extremely positive.
