Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans

Thursday, September 19 – 20:20 EST – EverBank Field

The Jaguars are a team very much in turmoil. It all started in week 1 when their starting quarterback Nick Foles left the game with a clavicle injury. Foles was enjoying a fruitful start to his life at Jacksonville. He went 5 for 8 with 75 passing yards and a touchdown. Foles immediately went under the knife and is targeting a week 11 return. For the moment, the Jaguars must find a way to win with backup Gardner Minshew II. Minshew has been decent so far. He has a pass completion rating of 78.85% which is adequate for a rookie quarterback. What is more concerning for the Jaguars is their defensive struggles. Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is unsettled after a sideline scrap with head coach Doug Marrone. In fairness, the Jaguars have had to play against what could turn out to be the top two offensive teams in the league.

Tennessee have a golden opportunity to win the AFC South. The Colts surely cannot keep up their form this year and will likely finish as a losing team. Jacksonville are 0-2 and their struggles do not seem to be ending anytime soon. Finally, the Texans have an identical 1-1 record. It will be a head to head battle with Houston for the division title. The Titans defence has been fantastic so far. In both games they have kept their opponents under 20 points. Furthermore, the Titans defence is first in the NFL in turnover differential, second in sacks and second in interceptions. They will have a chance to turn the heat on to rookie quarterback Minshew in this one. Nonetheless, their offence has been great too. They put up 43 points in their opener against Cleveland.
