Washington Redskins vs Chicago Bears

Monday, September 23 – 20:15 EST – FedEx Field

The good news for Washington is the fact that they have been able to compete in close games. The first game against the Eagles was heartbreaking. The Redskins lead for the majority of the game only to succumb to a second half comeback lead by Carson Wentz. Quarterback Case Keenum has played relatively well. He has managed five touchdowns in two games. Furthermore, he has yet to throw a single interception. If he can keep limiting his interceptions, Washington is bound for some success sooner rather than later. Keenum and rookie wider receiver Terry McLaurin have established immediate chemistry. McLaurin, a third round draft pick was not expected to perform so well however he has been exceeding all expectations. In addition, Washington has failed to establish a successful ground game. McLaurin’s 187 yards and two touchdowns have lightened the load on this offence.

The Bears are currently 1-1. There is a lot of room for improvement in Chicago. The NFC North is shaping up to be one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. In addition, if the Bears win tonight, all four teams would have won at least two of their three games. Unfortunately, the Bears have not looked great. They seemed to struggle even in their 16-14 win against Denver. Ultimately, it has been the Chicago defence that has stepped up this season. They limited their opponents to just 3 and 14 points in their first two games. If Mitch Trubisky and the offence can find some rhythm, this football team has the potential to be great. Above all, Trubisky has yet to throw a touchdown pass in two games. Furthermore, their only offensive touchdown came from a Montgomery run. In conclusion, it’s not looking good for the Bears.
