Green Bay Packers vs Philadelphia Eagles

Thursday, September 26 – 20:20 EST – Lambeau Field

It seems as though Green Bay has yet to have a challenging football game. They dispatched the Denver Broncos last week in comfortable fashion. Aaron Jones punched in two goal line touchdowns in that win. However, the praise must be heaped upon the Green Bay Packers defence. Through three games, the Packers have allowed a mere 11.7 points per game. This ranks as the third-lowest average in football. Furthermore, they lead the league in takeaways with a total of eight. If the defence can continue to perform at such a high level, Aaron Rodgers will benefit from the decrease in responsibility. There are few holes in this Green Bay team. Aaron Jones may struggle to find as much success in this one due to Philadelphia’s ability to stop the run. Either way, this Green Bay team is looking like they can win the NFC North this year.

A short week is going to hurt the Philadelphia Eagles. Many of their offensive weapons are nursing injuries and are at risk of missing Thursday night’s game. The lack of DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffrey is going to hurt the offensive productivity of this team. Not only will Carson Wentz have less experienced targets to throw to, but the Green Bay defence will prey on any replacements who are not up to the challenge. The Eagles have played better than what their record shows. Two extremely close losses to the Falcons and Lions came as a surprise. They have the quality to shock this Packers team, however their chances of winning will rely heavily on how easily Carson Wentz can find success against the Green Bay defensive unit.
