Calgary Flames vs Edmonton Oilers

Saturday, January 11 – 22:00 EST – Scotiabank Saddledome

The Calgary Flames will look to defend and extend their four game winning streak as they welcome the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. The Flames have featured in some evenly contested matches recently, however they have always managed to come out on top. Only one goal separated the Flames from their opponents in their last four wins. Calgary is 12-7-3 at the Scotiabank Saddledome this season. Offensively, the Flames are averaging 3.05 goals per game at home, ranking 21st in the league. Defensively, they are conceding 2.95 goals per game, ranking 18th in the league. Keep an eye out on Tkachuk, Monahan, Gaudreau, and Lindholm to be the difference makers for the home team. David Rittich (18-10-5, GAA: 2.81) is likely to start in goal.

On the other hand, the Edmonton Oilers will finally terminate their five game road trip tonight in Calgary. The Oilers have performed well, winning three out of their four games on this trip. They will now want to return home with another win in the bag. Edmonton is 14-9-2 on the road this season. Offensively, the Oilers are averaging 2.96 goals per game on their travels, ranking 15th in the league. Defensively, they are conceding 2.68 goals per game, ranking 5th in the league. Without the need of a mention, McDavid and Draisaitl are the main threats for Edmonton. The duo have accumulated 139 points together this season. Mike Smith (10-9-3, GAA: 3.0) is expected to get the start tonight.
