Sampdoria are entering the season under new management. Seasoned Serie A manager Eusebio Di Francesco replaces Marco Giampaolo. Di Francesco spent two years at Roma finishing 3rd and 6th. If he can achieve close to the same with Sampdoria his bosses will be pleased. Initially, it looks like this Sampdoria squad will be weaker than it was last year. Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet will be difficult to replace. As of yet they have not brought in any signings of or close to the quality of their departures. This is unfortunate for Di Francesco and Sampdoria fans alike. The one bright spot was their effort to secure goalkeeper Emil Audero on a permanent contract from Juventus. Audero is only 22 and his stellar play has lead many to believe he may be the next man in line to takeover on the Italian national team.

Simone Inzaghi is the man in charge for his fourth full year at Lazio. The club hierarchy are pleased with his performances and see no reason to send him away. His best placings have been two 5th place finishes. However, last year saw Lazio finish in 8th. He will look to take them above this spot during this year’s campaign. It looks like Lazio superstar Sergej Milinković-Savić is set to stay at the club. This is fantastic news if he remains committed and motivated. They have not lost too much in terms of quality over the offseason. They earned a decent fee by selling young winger Pedro Neto to Wolverhampton. However, there is little to discuss in terms of arrivals. None of their signings will likely break into the eleven from the start.
